We received this great photo from Jennifer Van Waes of her daughter Laine helping to make and can spaghetti sauce. The Van Waes started canning last summer when their garden produced an overabundance of cucumbers. They started with dill pickles, sweet pickles, and pickle relish. They canned so much, she says it will take them 10 years to go through it all. This summer, they’ve been canning tomato juice, salsa and spaghetti sauce. They even made strawberry jam! The best part of canning? Jennifer says that canning all day with her husband and her daughter is priceless. I totally agree!
